RED CARD SPORT is an independent game studio focused on the side of sport that doesn't get simulated. We write the story of the room that runs the pitch — not the pitch itself.

Sport,
is a game of the desk,
not the pitch.

There are things football games don't count: a chairman's decision four months before a contract ends. The long-term consequence of a press statement. The cost of a meeting with a supporter group. All of these happen off the pitch, but they shape the season more than anything on it.

We make games that look here. Decisions over dribbles. We simulate the person who picks the coach, not the coach. We simulate the budget, not the lineup. We simulate reputation, not goals.

We're not a studio. We're a small sports brand. We take our brand identity as seriously as our games.

We believe in four things.

What is vague costs time. What is sharp pushes forward. Every design decision we make traces back to one or more of these four.

Scope is a feature.

We win by choosing from what we could add, not by adding. Saying no is a design decision.

Readability is sacred.

If a player can't tell what's happening, the simulation didn't happen. We apply this from UI to the match engine.

Brand matters as much as game.

We act like a small sports brand, not an indie dev. Every graphic, every line of copy should reflect that.

Community is part of the product.

Zero marketing first, then devlog. Keeping the build open both disciplines us and makes no one surprised when the game actually ships.

02 / TIMELINE

The first 14 months.

From founding the studio to today, every month a decision got made. Here are the ones that mattered.

2025.02

Studio founded.

Four founders, a share agreement, a bank account. We were founded as Pitchside Studio and renamed three weeks later.

2025.03

Brand identity settled.

The RED CARD SPORT name, logo, colour system, voice. We finished the studio brand before we started any marketing.

2025.06

First prototype.

Vertical slice of the management loop. In Unity, then in our own UI framework. Shelved three months later.

2025.09

Second prototype.

This time with the calendar metaphor. Where the current UI foundation was laid. Devlog started here.

2026.01

Match engine v1.

First pass with the 2D ticker readability rules. Match designer Ezgi joined.

2026.04

0.4 pre-alpha.

Core management loop, match engine on second readability pass. That's today.

Late 2026

Steam Next Fest demo

A focused demo plan aimed at the cycle closest to launch.
